8A Residents Petition To IPD Sepang For A Safer Living Environment.

In view of the alarming escalation of crime rates as extensively reported over the media lately, coupled with several incidents of snatch theft cases happened just outside our gated and guarded administrative zone. The RA felt that we need to extend our helping hand or cooperation with the police department to put our regional crime under controlled.

Among the measures include forming a gated and guarded community scheme with 24 hours  security guards patrolling and stationed guards at the entrance gate, introducing card access passage system with online CCTV surveillance devices.

Furthering to that, the RA also initiated a signature campaign for the petition in order to inculcate the culture of awareness among all residents while getting them to be involved or be part of our team effort to prevent or fight against crime in our neighbourhood. In other words fighting against crime is not just the job of the police, or the RA, or the chairman but every single security conscious resident of a civil society particulary Taman Putra Prima 8A.

This morning we had handed over the residents petition to the OCPD of IPD Sepang Supt Imran Abd Rahman in Salak Tinggi.  Along with the Chairman was the Secretary of the Gabungan Persatuan Penduduk Taman Putra Prima Mr Terence Choong. During the session, Chairman Kong briefed the OCPD about the current security status of Taman Putra Prima and Taman Mas, and Supt Amran agreed that a successful G&G community  scheme will lessen very much of the police workload with perimeter fencing, and hiring of private security firm to check on all motorists and visitors entering into our compound. The OCPD also pleased with our proactive initiatives and encouraged all resident associations likewise to work closely and cooperate with the police to complement the battle against crime for the wellbeing, safety and security of the people. 1. All cars, residents and visitors who enter/ exit our security zone are video recorded round the clock with 8 CCTV IR cameras transmitted to distant monitor online. Should any things happened the remote duplicate copy or backup will be forwarded for police criminal investigation.

  2. Fighting against crime is not just the job of the police, or the RA, or the chairman but every single security conscious resident of a civil society particulary Taman Putra Prima 8A.

Good security not only make our family safer, our property price goes much higher too.

  3. Thanks to our Chairman for taking time off to go to the police station to submit our petition. Talking about the safety of the residents inside and outside (surrounding areas like offices, shoplots, factories, etc.) of our Taman, recently, one of my relatives has to board a ‘taxi’ to go to work due to the irregular bus services at our Taman, he was extorted by the taxi driver before releasing him. Thanks god nothing bad happened to him and he has made a police report.

The crime is happening everyday and we, the residents, must be mindful of our surrounding and do whatever necessary to minimise the possibilities of ‘inviting’ criminals to our Taman and the surrounding areas.

If you read the news media recently, one of the RA of a condo actually decided to ban certain group of people from renting in their condo. Although, this is not the right thing to do, but one thing for sure, those residents must has suffered mentally and financially and resulted in taking this drastic measures.

I do hope the house owners in our Taman to be very careful of certain unscrupulous property agents who are using local people to sign the tenancy agreements but actually letting foreigners staying in the rented houses. I remembered a few years back, our Govt has proposed to make the landlords responsible to ensure their rented premises are not used for illegal activities.

So, I hope the residents/owners will look after the safety in our Taman. One of the direct benefits of a safe Taman is our property value will move upwards.
